Job summary
The Senior Analyst plays a key role in three main areas:
- Using a range of analytical and reporting software and bringing together internal and external datasets, to deliver insightful analysis and improvement opportunities to services, projects and programmes across the Trust.
- Engaging with the improvement, transformation, and innovation teams to deliver analytic insight to improve care value and quality and facilitate data-driven decision-making across the trust
- Elevate the overall analytic and improvement capability of the trust through the design and delivery of educational content

This role will focus on providing support through the development of data insights and analytical tools that enable and drive change.
About us
The Delivery team is part of the newly established Centre for Innovation, Transformation, and Improvement (CITI).
CITI at Guy's and St Thomas' was newly founded in 2021 under the Deputy Chief Executive (DCE). The DCE is the Executive Director responsible for leading and implementing the Trust's strategy for innovation and improvement, which aims to develop an ecosystem that encourages the acceleration of new knowledge and capabilities and learn from best practices globally, to deliver improvements in patient care, research and education at scale. CITI co-locates multi-faceted teams to provide the focal point for clinical innovators and services seeking to translate ideas or early stage products or improvements into clinical practice. The Centre aims both to incubate and deliver innovations and improvement ideas, projects and programmes, working alongside and for its clinical customers for the benefit of patients.
CITI builds on industry best practice in taking innovation from concept to practice. It aims to foster a culture of innovation and improvement throughout the Trust, and acts as the intellectual home of our core change methodologies.

- To develop analytic tools and insights to support business planning and decision making in transformation and improvement across the Trust.
- To evaluate and analyse highly complex and contentious issues using tested and credible tools, including expertise in analytic tools, benchmarking and sources of healthcare data.
- Use robust problem-solving skills to find and understand root causes of problems and identify opportunities for improvement.
- To develop and implement continuous clinical analytics projects across the Trust. This will include managing projects from inception to completion and developing strategies for analytical transformation.
- To lead capability building around analytics within the improvement team.
- To lead and work with others to use data to understand and track complex interdependencies between different initiatives and different parts of the organisation or sector.
- Responsible for leading the evaluation of pathways of care and associated processes; facilitating collaborative working across organisational boundaries ensuring that the focus is on enhancing value and reducing waste.
- To determine key performance indicators to enable easy tracking of deliverables and outcomes by working collaboratively with clinical leads and operational teams.
- Track and evaluate changes, measuring impact and progress against agreed and robust improvement metrics.
- Produce written documentation for a wide range of audiences. This will include project reports, communications, business cases, bids for funding and explanations of technical and complex issues. Make recommendations and present findings at all levels throughout the Trust including to senior clinical and management audiences.

- 1.Evidence of Masters degree or equivalent by virtue of experience
- 2.Evidence of significant continuing professional development in quality improvement, data science, or a related field
Desirable
- oCertification in project or programme management (e.g. PRINCE2, PMP, APM, MSP)
- oCertification in Lean Six Sigma (Green belt or higher)
Previous experience
