Job summary

The South East London Diabetic Eye Screening Programme (SEL DESP) has a vacancy for an administrator in our call centre administration team.

We are looking for a confident professional with experience in managing and prioritising a considerable work load, to join our office-based team. PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS NOT A PATIENT FACING ROLE.

We have very close links with both ophthalmology and diabetes departments, aiming to provide an integrated and patient focused screening service.

Main duties of the job

You will enjoy helping patients and be comfortable working with the latest software packages, including database software. Excellent customer care skills, together with the ability to work as part of a team to communicate effectively with staff at all levels, is essential.

The post holder will be responsible for booking patient appointments across all screening sites, ensuring that patients are offered their diabetic eye screening in line with service objectives, whilst maximising efficient use of clinic capacity.

About us

SEL DESP operates a six day service with clinics offered across the localities every Saturday, as such it is a requirement for the administration team to provide office support for patients, this is done on a rota basis.
