We are looking for a Highly Specialised Practitioner Psychologist to join our team and participate in the development of our Staff Psychological Wellbeing programme.
This role welcomes people wanting part time, full time and flexible working opportunities. The post holder will also be encouraged, as part of our embedded, on-site service, to work within the Hospital, to improve engagement and support offers.
We are proud of our substantial and internationally recognised health and wellbeing programme which includes a strong staff psychological wellbeing component involving proactive, preventative approaches as well as reactive approaches including psychological debriefs and psychological therapies. The Highly Specialised Practitioner Psychologists will be pivotal in delivering the staff psychological wellbeing component as well as assisting the Lead and Consultant Clinical Psychologist with the strategic development of the programme. Our programme has a strong focus on delivering evidence-based initiatives, evaluation, and ensuring engagement with employees and stakeholders.

Main duties of the job
This is a varied and interesting role and we are looking for proactive and creative individuals who will be able to work in a team but also autonomously. The job requires excellent organisational skills. You will be able to effectively balance the clinical and non-clinical priorities of the role. You will have extensive clinical expertise to deliver both individual and group based interventions including proactive psychoeducation.

About us
The Staff Support Psychology Service provides a psychological therapies service for staff as well as a range of staff support activities across Trust sites. These include preventative initiatives. There is now clear evidence to suggest that improving the psychological wellbeing of staff leads to better health and wellbeing and has a positive impact on staff engagement and patient care.
The work of the psychology service can be categorised into 1) proactive initiatives (including understanding causes of staff stress and psychological distress on an organisational level, and delivering psychoeducation and reflective practice) and 2) reactive initiatives (including psychological therapies and psychological debriefs).

Clinical
1. To deliver and lead a high quality, sustainable, evidence based, cohesivePsychological Service for staff at Royal Brompton, and the wider GSTT. This includes offering highly skilled psychological assessments for staff presenting with a wide range of psychological difficulties and the development of psychological formulations based on a range of models to meet the needs of this client group. To offer evidence-based, psychological treatment and/or management of complex behavioural, emotional or psychosocialdifficulties for clients, based within at least 2 psychological models and frameworks.2. To utilise a wide range of assessment and monitoring methods, includingpsychometric measures and validated tests, and to select, administer and interpret test results.3. To select and deliver evidence based psychological treatments, monitor outcomes and modify and adapt interventions, drawing on a range of theoretical options, tailored to staff needs, including addressing psychological difficulties, promoting psychological wellbeing, work life balance, staff retention, as well as mindful work practices.4. To formulate and communicate sensitively psychological assessment findings and implement psychological treatment plans, individual or group interventions, as appropriate.5. To manage a specialist caseload of patients as an expert practitioner using evidence based psychological theory and practice. Utilising a high level of clinical decision making and specialist clinical skills to assess, formulate, treat and discharge clients. To manage risk and advise and signpost to other services and colleagues, as appropriate.6. To work as an independent and autonomous professional within HCPC/BPS Guidelines and the Policies and Procedures of the Service, taking full responsibility for their own work, including treatment and discharge decisions.7. To contribute to the effective working of the multi-disciplinary Occupational Health team in order to deliver comprehensive psychological interventions for staff, ensuring that staff psychological wellbeing is central to the planning and delivery of healthcare.8. To raise awareness within the Occupational Health team of a psychological and systemic framework for thinking around staff needs in the context of a medical setting and provide specialist psychological consultation and supervision to colleagues, as appropriate.9. To assess and monitor risk and draw up appropriate risk management plans. To provide advice to other professionals on psychological aspects of risk assessment and management.10. To facilitate staff groups, reflective practice and workshops, to provide a supportive network to enable the development of a compassionate, mindful and effective work environment and to actively promote wellbeing at work and safe work practices.11. To provide debrief support meetings following major incidents, as required, using highly skilled knowledge in relation to managing challenging behaviour, trauma and psychological first aid.12. To support the HWB Consultant Clinical Psychologist (Band 8C) in Occupational Health in consultations to the Trust in areas pertaining to psychological practice development within the Occupational Health Service.13. To undertake other appropriate duties to meet the needs of the Service andindividuals.14. To be accountable for own professional actions within the British Psychological Societys Code of Conduct, as well as the HCPC, and in accordance with all Trust policies.
