Job summary

The King's College London & Guy's and St Thomas' PET Centre is seeking to appoint a new consultant to join its established PET imaging team. This post is required to meet increasing demand for PET imaging services using both PET-CT and PET-MRI. It is expected that the post holder will be primarily involved in the full range of oncological PET imaging, as well as have expertise in neurological and / or cardiac PET imaging.

The post will be based at Guy's and St. Thomas' Hospitals. This is an excellent opportunity to join a first-class team in an active and progressive central London teaching hospital environment in a world-class PET imaging centre.

The post-holder will report to the PET Clinical Lead (Dr Sugama Chicklore) and the Head of the PET Centre (Prof Alexander Hammers), and will be accountable to Drs Lloyd and Mazumder (Joint Clinical Directors of Clinical Imaging & Medical Physics).

Main duties of the job

The job plan is anticipated to contain 10 Programmed Activities per week on average to be carried out in the PET Imaging Centre at St Thomas' and the PET Suite at Guy's Cancer. Depending on the successful candidate's skillset, there may be available PAs for radiology reporting of CT/MRI studies (with appropriate reduction in PET PAs). There will be no on-call. As a Department we are open to flexible working patterns which suit the Department and individual needs with agreement with the PET Clinical Lead. It is anticipated that an early evening PET reporting session will be included in the job plan (currently to 6.30pm). A proposed job plan is provided below and the post holder will be expected to discuss and agree a detailed job plan, including personal and professional objectives, with the Clinical Lead of PET within three months of starting. Whilst this is advertised as a full time post, we will also consider applicants who wish to request part time hours and/or a job share arrangement.
