An exciting opportunity have arisen for staff looking to progress their career and become a HART Team Leader.
The Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) is a specialist interoperable capability within the ambulance service. The aim of the HART capability is to increase survival rates and improve clinical outcomes by extending NHS care into hazardous areas or environments. These situations may be large scale major incidents or they may include more routine incidents. In addition to the extensive additional training in specialist capabilities and working within safe systems of work, HART Paramedics are expected to become proficient in the use of a wide range of specialist protective clothing and incident management equipment.
As a HART Team Leader you will be the first line manager responsible for the operational HART staff who respond to complex and possibly protracted incidents. You will also deliver paramedic interventions through all of the key HART capability areas.
The HART Team Leader role is a pivotal position in the support, management, and development of the existing HART operational staff. You will become a key player as part of the HART management team that will help to demonstrate and champion the behaviours linked to the key values of: Team Working, Caring, Innovation and Professionalism.
Main duties of the job
The HART Team Leader will, under the direction of the HART Operations Manager, be responsible for the management of their designated team, working closely with their HART Clinical Team Educator and the HART Training Manager to fulfil the strategic aims of the Trust and HART capability requirements of the National Ambulance Resilience Unit (NARU).
You must be a team player, accept responsibility, demonstrate accountability and be a confident decision maker. You will possess good interpersonal skills and communications skills. You will need to be competent in basic IT skills and capable of logical thinking, practical problem-solving, objective assessment skills and report writing.
The HART Team Leader will support the HART Operations Manager and HART Training Manager in the realisation of the Trust's Strategies, Vision, Behaviours and Values, supporting the delivery of high-quality patient focused care, in a safe and sustainable way, within the wider organisation. They will also support the requirements from NARU to ensure the HART interoperable capability.
The HART Team leader will be responsible to ensure that the immediate welfare of staff remains at the forefront of all their daily service delivery, and as such will supply immediate support to the staff within the HART unit.
