Are you an enthusiastic person who would enjoy working in a diverse, exciting and rewarding clinical area? Castle ward currently has an opportunity to appoint a Ward Manager Assistant to join our friendly, professional and successful team.
Castle ward is a 29 bedded unit specializing in the care of rheumatology and endocrine patients. The Ward is also a medical ward that admits patients with general medical conditions.
We are looking for an enthusiastic person who will enjoy working in a busy environment working with a multi-professional group.
You will work closely with the clinical team to support the smooth running of the ward by providing administration and secretarial support.
As a new role, you will be instrumental in helping to review administration processes and identifying more efficient and effective ways of working.
You will support enquiries from patients and their visitors and liaise with staff from other wards and departments.
Main duties of the job
You will work closely with relevant staff to identify, develop and implement administrative systems on the ward.
This may include the following:
o Providing secretarial support.
o Ensuring relevant paperwork is available for ward meetings, patient discharges, communication with health visitors and external healthservices, etc.
o Preparing and typing letters and reports, including the recording and reporting of Action Notes from ward meetings.
o Assisting in analysing and responding to service user feedback in order to improve services.
o Organising meetings.
o Assisting the planning of the Off Duty Rota.
o Collating Annual Leave and Sick Leave information for staff.
o Assisting in organising mandatory and other training for the staff.
o Organising the servicing and maintaining the log of equipment and estates and facilities issues, liaising directly with the appropriatedepartments.
o Assisting and actioning matrons rounding's where required.
o Assisting in the administrative process for the recruitment of new staff.
o Procuring ward goods/supplies relevant to the service, within agreed budget.
