Main duties of the job
Job responsibilities
- Ensures own clinical competence is maintained and acts as an excellent role model in relation to the delivery of high quality, compassionate care
- Works in clinical practice alongside new HCAs and CSWs to assist with their induction, and provide clinical assessments and pastoral support where appropriate.
- Provides feedback to; individuals with whom they are working, their managers, mentors and Practice Development Nurses which is encouraging, supportive and constructive.
- Participates in the collection and management of audit data as required.
- Supports the Practice Development Nurses in the preparation of reports as required.
- Deliver planned teaching sessions to individuals / groups to support programmes delivered by the CEPD Team e.g. as part of HCA and CSW induction / update sessions.
- To provide support to individuals who are undertaking the Care Certificate, their managers and mentors, to ensure completion within national time frames.
- To maintain robust records in relation to the Care Certificate and individuals progress, alerting the Practice Development Nurse to any areas of concern in a timely manner.
- To undertake quality assurance processes in relation to the Care Certificate providing feedback to individuals / managers / mentors in a timely manner.
- To provide statistical data e.g. in relation to Care Certificate completion rates / numbers as required by the Trust / Health Education England.
