We are offering an exciting opportunity for a dedicatedDeputy Lead Aseptic Services Technician (Education & Training) to join our dynamic Aseptic Services Team within the Pharmacy Department.
As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will contribute directly to the safe and effective delivery of chemotherapy and other essential cancer treatments for patients across Berkshire. Our Aseptic Services Unit is proud to hold a LOW overall risk rating, awarded in our most recent Regional Pharmaceutical Quality Assurance audit (September 2025), reflecting our commitment to quality and continuous improvement.
In this education-focused deputy leadership position, you will play a key role in developing, coordinating and delivering training for staff working within the Aseptic Services Unit. You will help maintain high standards of practice, support competency-based learning, and ensure all staff are confident, knowledgeable and compliant with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP).
You will also support day-to-day aseptic operations, staff supervision and work planning.

Main duties of the job
To support the management of the effective and safe daily running of the Pharmacy Aseptic Services Unit. In providing a quality, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) compliant service, supplying aseptically prepared medicines, fit for their intended use, in a timely manner to all service users.
To ensure safe provision and to maintain and develop the highest standards of patient-focused care in the provision of the pharmacy aseptic service at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.
Collaborate with the Lead and Deputy Lead Aseptic Services Technicians in the delivery of robust and effective training to staff and to manage and provide necessary education and training in relation to Aseptic Services to pharmacy, medical and nursing staff.
You will bring:
- Recent experience working in aseptic services
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Sound knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
- Experience in staff supervision, training others, and collaborative team working
- A passion for supporting learning, development and high-quality patient care

The Pharmacy Department is a friendly and progressive team, committed to supporting professional development. The department consists of approximately 120 members of staff and includes Pharmacists, Technicians, Assistants and Admin staff from almost 40 different nationalities.
