Are you looking to start a rewarding career in healthcare? This is a fantastic opportunity to earn a BSc (Hons) in Therapeutic Radiography from the University of Hertfordshire while gaining hands-on experience with the friendly and supportive team at the Berkshire Cancer Centre.

We welcome applications from a wide range of backgrounds, including:

o Recent college or sixth form leavers.o Current NHS or health and social care staff.o Existing degree holders.o Career changers looking to join the NHS.

This 3-year apprenticeship programme combines academic study with practical training at our Radiotherapy departments in Reading and Bracknell. Academic content is delivered through a blend of university-based, virtual, and on-site clinical teaching.

Main duties of the job

As a Trainee Therapeutic Radiographer, you will:

o Gain experience in all aspects of radiotherapy service delivery, cancer care and oncology.o Learn about patient care, treatment planning, radiation delivery, and quality assurance.o Have a minimum of 20% protected time for academic learning and development.o Support the administrative and reception duties for the radiotherapy service.o Gain the proficiency and skills required to qualify as a HCPC registered Therapeutic Radiographer.

You will be fully supported throughout your apprenticeship and beyond, with dedicated academic and clinical mentorship.

o 2 GE CT scanners.o 4 Elekta Linear Accelerators.o Superficial X-ray and high-dose Brachytherapy units.o A variety of other clinical areas and opportunities.
