This is an exciting opportunity to join the Urgent Care team as a Patient Pathway Coordinator (PPC) at our Reading University site - Dingley Child Development Centre.
We currently have an opportunity for a Band 4 PPC at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust (RBFT), where we provides a first-class, efficient, pro-active and patient-focused admin service.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, highly motivated and organized individual to provide specialist admin support to the Community Paediatrics team.
You will need to be confident working within a team in a fast-paced environment and have good IT skills, be comfortable communicating with patients and colleagues at all levels and work quickly and accurately under pressure.
You will be responsible and accountable for consistently and accurately carrying out your duties as well as the provision of a high quality and efficient service, providing this in a confident and courteous way to service users.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be the point of contact for all administrative issues relating to patients' pathway of care.
The post holder will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will provide support in the proactive management of the patient pathway from referral to discharge, ensuring the entire pathway is managed smoothly.
You will support the CAT in the delivery of a patient-focused service, and be responsible for the processing of general admin duties, answering the telephones to patients, other healthcare providers and internal staff, scheduling of appointments, processing of clinic letters and other administrative duties.
This post benefits from previous experience of delivering high levels of customer/patient service, working within an administrative environment, preferable experience within the NHS but this is not essential, using multiple computer systems and managing data (electronic and paper based).
Knowledge of the 18 week pathway would also be beneficial.
Full compliance with local procedures, deadlines and best practice will be a key part of the role.
