Job summary

Band 5 Medical Videographer - Part Time 15 hours per week.

**This is a fixed-term opportunity for 6 months.**

The Medical Photography team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital is seeking a talented and creative part-time Medical Videographer to join our expanding team.

Demand for video has continued to grow across the Trust, and our team delivers a range of in-house video solutions, including clinical videography, patient information films, training videos, recruitment materials, and both internal and external communications.

We are looking for a passionate and innovative individual to complement our team of photographers and videographers.

The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about working within the NHS and eager to use their skills to support patient care and hospital services.

Candidates shortlisted for interview will be expected to provide a comprehensive portfolio of relevant video and animation work at interview.

Main duties of the job

As a Medical Videographer, you will provide a high-quality video production service for the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust.

This includes clinical and non-clinical video projects to support patient care, research, training, teaching, and promotional needs.

You will work independently across multiple hospital sites, managing your own workload to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the highest standard, while adhering to trust policies, confidentiality protocols, and data protection regulations.

Additionally, you may be required to assist with the day-to-day running of the Medical Photography Department, including administrative tasks, to support the smooth delivery of the overall service.

Candidates with equivalent professional experience to a degree are welcome to apply. This includes a combination of substantial hands-on videography and animation experience (min. 3 years), technical expertise, and a strong portfolio demonstrating the required skills.

Essential

  • Possess a degree in film or related media subject or/and equivalent level of knowledge and experience (min. 3 years)

Desirable

  • Postgraduate qualification (e.g. MSc PGCert) in Medical Illustration
  • Driving License and willingness to use of own car/vehicle

Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • Reference based evidence of extensive practical experience in videography and editing of a consistently high standard
  • Excellent knowledge of applications: Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects
  • Experience of managing and using animation and motion graphics with film
  • Demonstrate creativity in the interpretation of client brief
  • Good knowledge of current trends and new innovations in the videography profession (eg. virtual reality)
  • Experience of supporting the development of less experienced staff with digital videography
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of Outlook and Teams
