Audiologist - Band 5

The audiology team at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust are looking for an enthusiastic audiologist with a passion for quality care to join their large, friendly, forward thinking department. As a band 5 Audiologist you will be expected to have previous clinical experience of working independently in adult audiology clinics, although this may include robust university clinical placements.

As a department, we have a strong focus on training, mentorship and continued professional development and have been IQIPS accredited since 2014.

You will have a degree (or equivalent) in Audiology and have obtained, or be working towards, professional state registration.

Main duties of the job

Clinical Role

  • You will have experience in providing adult diagnostic hearing assessment and adult rehabilitation work
  • You will have prior experience of independently providing ENT support and hearing aid repair and maintenance for service users.
  • The service is based in Reading but is delivered across a number of Berkshire and South Oxfordshire locations. The clinician will be part of the team working across these sites to support the local community.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Motivation to develop and diversify your clinical skills in order to manage a complex caseloads and potentially support other clinics within the department (i.e. paediatrics, tinnitus)
  • There will be opportunities to push service quality and the technical knowledge forward.
  • The role will involve training and supervision of internal and external students
  • You will be involved in audits and service evaluations to help maintain IQIPS accreditation
