We are inviting applications for the accelerated Registered Nurse Degree Apprenticeship through the University of West London (UWL) commencing April 2025

We are looking for highly motivated, dynamic and enthusiastic individuals who are able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of the role of the Registered Nurse and skills and qualities required to be able to undertake this role.

The funding for this apprenticeship is not yet confirmed, if successful at interview once funding is confirmed you will be notified and a contracted offer will be made. Please note you may be interviewed before funding is confirmed. All offers made will be subject to funding confirmation.

Main duties of the job

To be eligible to submit an application you must meet the criteria outlined below:

Currently be employed on a substantive contract with the RBFT as a Registered Nursing Associate holding current NMC registration OR an Assistant Practitioner who has completed a Level 5 Assistant Practitioner Apprenticeship since 2021 and is assessed by UWL to meet the APEL requirements for this course**

Job responsibilities

** An Assistant Practitioner wishing to apply for RPL must start the RNDA within 4 years of completing their Assistant Practitioner course. If they studied at UWL, this would be the FdSc Healthcare Assistant Practitioner course.

Have at least six months post-registration experience.

Have the support of your current line manager, who will be asked to submit a professional reference as part of your application.

HoldGSCE Maths & English qualifications at grade 4-9 or equivalent level 2 functional skills and be able to provide certificated evidence of these qualifications at the point of application.

Be able to provide evidence you meet the Education and Skills Funding Agency (ESFA) rules:

Have the right to work in England and be one of the following: A citizen of a country within the European Economic Area (EEA) (including other countries determined within the EEA or those with bilateral agreements), or have the right of abode in the UK, and have been ordinarily resident in the EEA (including other countries determined within the EEA or those with bilateral agreements), for at least the previous three years on the first day of learning.

ORa non-EEA citizen with permission from the UK government to live in the UK (not for educational purposes) and have been ordinarily resident in the UK for at least the previous three years before the start of learning.

Applicants will be asked to upload the following for University checking prior to being invited to the selection day;

  • English and Maths qualifications*
  • Foundation Degree Nursing Associate Certificate(must have beenachieved in the UK, within 4 years of the start date of the course)
  • Foundation Degree Nursing Associate Transcript(this lists all the modules studied, the academic credits and mark achieved)
  • Evidence of registration with the NMC as a Nursing Associate
  • All academic qualifications held by candidate (to include any courses started and not finished)
  • Residency documents** - passport and BRP card (where applicable). Further documents may be requested.
  • Change of name evidence (as relevant) i.e. marriage cert, divorce papers, deed poll document.

*Where the qualifications were achieved outside of the UK, we will require the original certificate and any translation of documents. We cannot accept a NARIC/ENIC report only.If the qualifications have not been checked as yet, we can do this, via thisapplication process.

** The Department for Education requires that a candidates visa must be valid for the entire duration of the apprenticeship at the point of enrolment. Renewals/extensions cannot be taken into account.
