Job summary

Networked Care Board is looking for a new matron to cover maternity leave in Integrated Medicine B.

This is a complex medical directorate that incorporates haematology and West ward, battle day unit, discharge lounge, diabetes and endocrine, castle ward, rheumatology, pain services and dermatology.

The matron is supported by 4 lead nurses. They are part of the triumvirate leadership team alongside the Clinical Director and Directorate Manager.

Main duties of the job

  • Leading Directorate Nursing Strategy as part of triumvirate.
  • Lead service improvement
  • Lead Patient Pathway Design
  • Overall responsibility for
    • Clinical environment
    • Performance
    • Budgets
    • Capacity
  • Lead workforce, training needs analysis and skill mix
  • Lead governance for the care group with clinical governance lead - risk, learning from incidents and complaints
  • Lead on external inspections such as CQC

Be part of on call management rota for hospital.
