Job summary

This is a key developmental role supporting the Matron for Critical Care & Respiratory Medicine in Urgent Care Group. The purpose of this post is to oversee, lead & take responsibility for the day to day management of the ICU for nursing performance. The role will support the achievement of all local, organisational and national standards and compliance (CQC,NICE,GPICS, ClinicalGovernance and risk).The post holder will provide visible & effective leadership to staff within the Intensive care unit.Provision of this visibility will provide accessible and authoritative presence to whom staff, patientsand families can turn to for advice, support and assistance.

  • Professionally qualified and clinically credible with a post registration qualification In Critical care/ Intensive Care Nursing Registered Nurse

Desirable

  • Postgraduate management/ further study qualification.

Knowledge & Experience

Essential

  • Recent management experience at band 7/ Practiced at Band 7 for 1.5 years( Minimum).

Desirable

  • Experience of managing finance, workforce, quality within a clinical environment.
