- Adopt a clinical management approach, which is supportive, energetic, enthusiastic, dynamic and innovative and support the Team Leaders to create an environment that is challenging, stimulating and supportive to Individuals.
- Responsible for the day to day management of the department staff in the absence of Department Leader/Team Leader, ensuring appropriate skill mix and staff level are achieved by effective and efficient utilisation of the dept team in order to provide high standard of care throughout a given period of duty.
- Supervise all grades of staff within the sphere of authority, allocate workload and respond appropriately to deficiencies in staffing levels/changing situations, including close liaison withDepartment Leader and Team leaders.
- Maximise opportunities to participate fully as a team member by sharing knowledge and information and involving team members in decision-making when appropriate to promote cohesive team working within the department environment.
- Involve multidisciplinary team members in decision-making on issues that affect the smooth organisation of the department and the delivery of care, often requiring diplomatic andpersuasive skills.
