Lead Pharmacist for Paediatrics and Women's Services

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and experienced Pharmacist to join our team at Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust as Lead Pharmacist for Paediatrics and Women's Services.

The post holder will be a key member of the clinical pharmacy team providing services to paediatric, gynaecology and obstetrics teams.

In addition to excellent communication and leadership skills you will be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have previous experience of working within a clinical environment and will have completed a post-graduate diploma in clinical pharmacy. Evidence of multi-disciplinary teamwork and project management is beneficial as is experience of, financial analysis, commissioning and risk management.

Previous hospital pharmacy paediatrics and women's services essential for the role.

Training and support will be given and a commitment to continuing professional development is essential.

We would also consider a band 7 - 8a development programme for interested candidates who do not have sufficient experience.

Main duties of the job

To lead in delivering the clinical pharmacy medicines optimisation service to patients admitted under the care of Women's Services and Children's Services

Ensure excellent patient care through professional advice and services

Work effectively as part of a team in a multidisciplinary and pharmacy environment and maintain rapport with medical and other colleagues.

  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy or equivalent (from an accredited University registered with GPhC
  • Current registered practising Member of GPhC
  • Postgraduate Diploma in Clinical Pharmacy, MSc or other Clinical Postgraduate qualification

Desirable

  • Member of UKCPA
  • Hospital Pre-Registration training
  • Independent pharmacist prescriber

Experience

Essential

  • Substantial Hospital Pharmacy experience of which a significant amount has been within an acute UK hospital environment.
  • Substantial clinical pharmacy experience at ward level
  • Extensive multi-disciplinary Teamwork

  • Experience of developing protocols, guidlines and PGDs
