Job summary
The post holder will be responsible for co-ordinating and overseeing sustainable delivery of RTT within the 18 week validation team.
They will be required to have a good working knowledge of NHS data standards and definitions in addition to previous experience of the Cerner Millenium product and other information systems used in the Trust.
The role requires an ability to review and analyse numerous complex issues arising from erroneous data and to diagnose reasons for errors, both user and system generated, along the 18 week pathway. Once diagnosed the post holder is required to develop, test and work to implement corrective actions, working with all staff groups to enable the Trust to deliver the required RTT standards and proactively monitor and track patients through their pathway.
The post holder is expected to work closely with the Informatics department, the Training team and operational teams to improve data entry processes, inform future training requirements and recommend opportunities for improvement in the sustainable delivery of 18 weeks.
They will function as a key member of the validation team to proactively monitor and track 18 Week referrals in order to ensure that patient journeys are processed in a timely and efficient manner in line with nationally and locally defined targets.
Main duties of the job
1. To support the patient pathway manager in the development of key documents relating to data quality, departmental strategy and monitoring reports.
2. To ensure the delivery of all RTT objectives and work with the 18 weeks supervisor to identify future priorities and opportunities for improving data quality in these areas across the Trust
3. To act as a senior RTT lead and advisor within operational divisions
4. To develop an approach of continuous improvement in the identification and reduction of errors arising from EPR and RTT understanding to promote a culture of ownership and excellence within the Trust.
5. To navigate patients through their care pathway from point of referral through to treatment in accordance with locally and nationally defined timescales using hospital IT systems including PAS.
6. To submit all data for Level 2 HDU activity in line with national policies.
