Job summary

Directorate Manager IM A - Secondment/Acting Up - 9 Months - Internal Only

To be managerially responsible for the Integrated Medicine services, providing clear leadership and working with the Clinical Director, Matron, Care Group Director and Care Group Director of Operations to ensure the provision of high quality patient care and the most efficient and cost effective use of resources. The services/sites within these portfolios are:

Integrated Medicine A:

  • Renal
  • Audiology
  • Sexual Health
  • Outpatients

To be responsible for ensuring that within all specific work areas all local and national performance standards and objectives are met.

Main duties of the job

  • To be responsible for ensuring the operational delivery of services; leading and effectively implementing change management initiatives to improve service provision.
  • To influence and lead on the strategic development and service improvement of clinical services in conjunction with the Matron and in support of the Clinical Director.
  • With the Clinical Director and Matron, to view the grouping of services as a business unit in line with service line reporting (SLR), and to lead on embedding and using SLR in the management of the Directorate.
  • Other services may be added to this portfolio in line with the Directorate Managers' personal development programme, and the needs of the service.
  • To participate in the Trust's on-call manager rota.
