Job summary
This position is for someone who is looking for full time work (37.5hours), working 5 days a week from Monday to Friday
Main duties of the job
The objective of the Nursery Nurse is to assist in the development and running of the Day Nursery, to provide outstanding day care for the children in a safe, clean and stimulating environment.
The aim is to provide the best possible day care children at the nursery, which meets their physical, intellectual, emotional and social needs in a non-discriminatory manner.

Job responsibilities
- To provide the best possible care and stimulation for the children of the nursery in a safe and happy environment
- To liaise with parents and encourage their involvement in the aims of the nursery and in all aspects of their childrens care
- To assist in the supervising and training of students and NVQ trainees sent to the nursery from time to time, as delegated
- To attend seminars, training courses and exhibitions to keep abreast of developments in all aspects of child care practice and policy, to ensure that modern, innovated and forward looking practices are maintained: and personal career development
- To assist in the planning of appropriate programmes of activities for the under 5s, relevant to their age and stage of development, to discuss other matters relevant to the staff and children and ensure appropriate records are kept.
- To act as key person to allocated children and ensure that their profiles and any other paperwork needed is kept up to date
- To work effectively as part of a team on a daily basis. Providing a happy, effective working environment.
- To assist in the daily domestic management of the nursery: including ensuring that the nursery is kept safe, secure and clean at all times
