Lead Pharmacy Technician (Medicines Value) - Secondment 6 months - Internal Only
We are looking for an experienced Senior Lead Pharmacy Technician to join our Senior Pharmacy Leadership team as the Senior Lead Pharmacy Technician for Medicines Value. This is a new and exciting opportunity and will be key in supporting the Trust and department's delivery of the Cost Improvement Programme.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will work closely with other senior leads to co-ordinate medicines value workstreams and help drive forward locally identified priorities.
- You must have significant post qualification experience, be assertive and have a passion for best value medicines procurement and cost saving.
- You must possess excellent IT and data analysis skills.
- It is essential that you can work accurately and quickly under pressure and be able to prioritise your workload.

Education and Qualifications
Essential
- Registration with the GPhC
- Knowledge and skills equivalent to post graduate diploma level, specifically to include a sound knowledge of pharmacy Operational issues.
- Proven track record of managing teams to high performance levels and through change.
- Currently working within the RBFT as a Senior Technician managing a team/section
- Leadership/Management qualification or equivalent experience
Desirable
- Member of APTUK
- NVQ A1 workplace assessor award
- ECDL qualification
- Project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE) or equivalent
Experience
Essential
- Significant post qualification hospital pharmacy practice
- Proven effective management of a team
- Significant experience of working in healthcare in a range of settings and roles
- Proven track record of delivering change in practice to short deadlines and to a high standard
- Experience of service delivery in a service dealing directly with patients, including demonstrable effective customer care services
- Experience of delivering cost savings
- Experience of managing staff, including recruitment, appraisal and staff development
- Experience of working with clinical areas across the trust to deliver improvements and financial savings
