Acute Haematology CNS - Secondment/Acting Up - 12 Months - Internal Only

An exciting 12 months secondment post has arisen within the Haematology team for an Acute Haematology CNS. The job is a developmental post for Band 6/7 depending on experience.

The post holder will work collaboratively with the multi professional team to develop and maintain a strategy relating to the care of patients in acute Haematology.

The post holder will clinically manage and engineer the cancer pathway for haematology patients.

Main duties of the job

The post will be ;

1. Responsible for managing haematology inpatients.

2. Holds own defined caseload.

3. To perform Peripheral blood stem cell infusions.

4. Be registered for IT chemotherapy check.

5. Communicates complex, sensitive information effectively and empathetically to patients and relatives. Maintains personally generated observations in records.

Essential

  • Registered Nurse (Pt 1/12)
  • Qualification in Haematology and Acute care setting
  • SACT trained

Desirable

  • Participating, or working towards, master's level study in a relevant area

Experience

Essential

  • 5 years post qualification of which a considerable amount must be in acute Haematology
  • Must have recent clinical experience in a speciality.

Desirable

  • Demonstrates ability to think laterally, creatively, and innovatively.
