Band 8A Macmillan SACT Advanced Nurse Practitioner
**Full Time / Part Time**
The Berkshire Cancer Centre is looking to recruit a SACT Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP) to join its expanding Advanced Nurse Practitioner team.
The ideal candidate will be a qualified ANP with recent experience in administering SACT, including chemotherapy, immunotherapy, targeted treatments, and supportive medicines.
The Berkshire Cancer Centre's SACT Unit treats a variety of solid tumours, and the successful applicant will need strong clinical knowledge and highly developed decision-making skills in all aspects of SACT and oncology care.
For those who may not yet have all the required qualifications, there is an opportunity for experienced SACT nurses to join the team as a trainee ANP. Applications from those with relevant experience and a desire to undertake the necessary training in a supportive environment will also be considered - please see our separate advertisement for the Trainee SACT ANP position - Trainee SACT ANP.
Main duties of the job
The ANP will collaborate with the SACT nursing team on the day units, providing clinical expertise and support.
You will be responsible for assessing patients' fitness for treatment and formulating management plans.
Another key aspect of the role includes working as part of the non-medical prescribing team in the oral SACT clinics. The Berkshire Cancer Centre currently offers non-medical prescribing (NMP) clinics for breast cancer (both adjuvant and metastatic) and gynaecological cancers, with plans to expand the service to additional tumour types.
In this role, the successful applicant will work alongside the existing SACT ANP and play an integral part in the strategic development of SACT services. This includes supporting the expansion of non-medical prescribing clinics and oncology triage services.
If this role sounds like a good fit for you, we encourage you to get in touch for more information.
Informal visits are welcomed and encouraged.
