Experienced Paediatric Physiotherapist

There is the potential for this role to be offered as a development opportunity, however this will be at the discretion of the interview panel and appointing team.

We are pleased to offer this exciting opportunity to come and join our team at the Royal Berkshire Foundation Trust in Reading. We are looking to employ a forward thinking, dynamic individual as a specialist Paediatric Physiotherapist.

The post is suitable for an experienced physiotherapist with a specialist interest in paediatrics. It will be based at the hospital's Dingley Child Development Centre (University of Reading Whiteknights Campus), on the paediatric wards and outpatient clinics at RBH, and at our hydrotherapy setting in West Berkshire. You will gain experience in inpatient respiratory, neurological and orthopaedic rehabilitation, outpatient orthopaedics including Ponseti, Early Years neurodevelopmental and childhood MSK conditions, and hydrotherapy.

You will work within the paediatric physiotherapy team; there is support from experienced senior staff, and you will be responsible for supervising and developing rotational staff and students. You will work closely with the MDT and community teams.

Main duties of the job

  • To be a Senior Physiotherapist delivering patient centred care, to a variety of paediatric patients. Working in paediatric outpatients at Dingley Child Development Centre, on paediatric wards including both respiratory and orthopaedic patients, outpatient clinics and within the hydrotherapy service.
  • To be professionally responsible for all aspects of your own work including the therapeutic management of patients in your care, with support from your supervisor.
  • To use your physiotherapy knowledge and skills to provide specialist support and advice to the Multi-Disciplinary team and to manage own caseload of patients as an autonomous practitioner
  • To deliver a high quality, effective and efficient physiotherapy service in the Therapy team.
  • To be a member of the Therapy Department team, contributing to service development in Therapies and the Trust.
