We are looking for an experienced, motivated and courageous leader with a clear drive for quality and quality improvement to join our Paediatric Nurse Leadership Team. The team will provide exceptional support .

The successful candidate will have a focus on quality and will lead the team alongside the senior nursing team to develop team objectives, education and on-going development opportunities for the team. They will have joint responsibility with another Band 7 to lead the acute Paediatric ward areas of Dolphin and Lion.

Main duties of the job

Managerial

Manage and Lead the Paediatric Ward Team

Managerial responsibility for the recruitment, development, training and appraisal for all nursing and support staff

Accountable for Paediatric wards performance and achievement of all organizational targets and standards,

Ensure staffing is appropriate to meet demands and with appropriate skill mix.

Ensure staff provide holistic, evidence based care for CYP and family centered care.

Clinical

Demonstrate specialist expertise and professional knowledge .

In conjunction with the Lead Nurse, Matron and Practice Educators develop and monitor performance and clinical outcomes to improve and develop high standards of patient care. Place the Child and Young Persons experience at the core of service delivery.

Teaching

Promote/ develop and maintain a culture within clinical environment which challenges and questions practice, and promote the quality of thinking amongst practitioners.
