Band 7 Sister/Charge Nurse (Urology Procedures)

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced nurse to lead the Urology Procedures department at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Urology Procedures is a busy outpatient setting specialising in Urological diagnostics and interventions.

The department hosts a diverse range of Urology clinics including nurse led specialty clinics.

The departmental manager will hold a key leadership position with line manager responsibility for the nursing team and the running of the unit.

It is an exciting time to join the department as we transition to a new purpose built urology unit in Summer 2025.

Main duties of the job

The Urology Procedures Sister/Charge Nurse will act as a clinical role model, leading the team to deliver outstanding care.

Work collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless service and care delivery.

Effectively manage departmental budget resources efficiently.

Provide exceptional leadership for the clinical team.

Effectively manage patient information resources.

About us

Urology Procedures is at the RBFT Reading site. The nursing team work collaboratively with the wider multi-professional team supporting a wide variety of specialist clinics. Working within the CARE values and Leadership Behavioural Framework is a critical element to this role.

The Trust has a designated well being centre for use by all staff and the department hosts well-being champions ensuring the team are well supported in their roles.

We offer 27 days annual leave plus 8 bank holidays. The annual leave entitlement increases depending on years of service.

There is an on site nursery available to staff as well as a range of travel options to facilitate a wide variety of requirements including a free park and ride service from Thames Valley and Mereoak.
