We are looking for a supportive, compassionate, inspiring leader to lead the Elderly Care and Medicine Occupational Therapy teams at the Royal Berkshire Hospital.

Main duties of the job

To ensure a timely and effective occupational therapy service is delivered across inpatient specialities by helping to monitor staffing levels and workload capacity on a daily basis, providing relevant advice and information to the Professional Lead for OT and the Head of Therapies as needed.

To support patient flow throughout the inpatient specialties, attending Discharge Operational Meetings and undertaking key related actions.

To be responsible for the operational management and clinical leadership of the elderly care and medicine occupational therapy teams in conjunction with the Professional Lead for OT, including the day-to-day management of authorising equipment, supervising staff and providing clinical support.

To be an advanced specialist Occupational Therapist in the management of adult and elderly patients within an acute hospital setting; having a comprehensive understanding of the complex needs affecting a range of population groups.
