Band 8b - Senior Lead Pharmacist for Clinical Services (Workforce Development)

To support the Trust in the delivery of its strategy and vision, an exciting role for a Senior Lead Pharmacist for Clinical Services (Workforce Development) has arisen.

Working closely with the Associate Chief Pharmacist for clinical services, the post holder will lead the department in the delivery of a high-quality clinical service whilst promoting staff development and well-being at work.

The post holder will contribute to, and support all aspects of Workforce Development, in collaboration with the Education and Training team and the Pharmacy Management Team.

In addition to excellent communication and leadership skills you will be registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council and have previous experience of working as a Lead pharmacist within a clinical environment. Evidence of multi-disciplinary teamwork and project management is essential as is experience of financial analysis, commissioning, and risk management.

Main duties of the job

To contribute to and support all aspects of Workforce Development, in collaboration with the Education and Training team and the Pharmacy Management Team.

To support and deputise for the Associate Chief Pharmacist for Clinical Services in the management of the pharmacy services with a particular focus on Admissions, VHS, Surgery and ICU specialtiTo assist the Associate Chief Pharmacist and Clinical Services Lead in providing professional and strategic leadership and advice to the Chief Pharmacist, and the Trust, on the pharmacy clinical services.

To manage a range of pharmacy staff and financial resources within the department that are relevant to his or her role to ensure the department achieve long-term financial sustainability as outlined in the Trust strategy.

To contribute as an advanced level practitioner to the Trust's Clinical Pharmacy & Medicines Optimisation Service.

As member of the Senior Pharmacist Leadership Team (SPLT) to work closely with all members of SPLT including the Chief Pharmacist in delivering the Pharmacy Strategy and to help ensure the service is aligned with the requirements of the Trust. Furthermore, to support and live out the Trust CARE values accepting high standards from oneself and others.

  • Current registered practising Member of GPhC
  • Specialist higher degree (Post-graduate diploma) in Clinical Pharmacy
