Band 8A Macmillan Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapy (SACT) Lead Nurse
The Berkshire Cancer Center (BCC) is looking for an experienced Chemotherapy/Systemic Anticancer Therapy (SACT) nurse leader.
The Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust has SACT units at 3 sites, a hub at the Royal Berkshire hospital and spoke units at Bracknell Health space and West Berkshire community hospital.
A full range of SACT including chemotherapy and immunotherapy are delivered across the treatment units, an inpatient heamato-oncology ward, and other designated areas within the Trust.
The successful applicant will work with a motivated and enthusiastic multidisciplinary team to identify and lead on projects within SACT services. These projects cross a variety of specialties, and will improve clinical outcomes for patients.
You will work closely with stakeholders across the Trust and the local Cancer Alliance to lead on strategic nursing development and implementation of a high quality, safe and effective systemic anti-cancer therapy service.An advanced working knowledge of SACT and cytotoxic therapies in Oncology is therefore essential for this role.
Main duties of the job
We are looking for a forward-thinking, enthusiastic and conscientious team player who is able to prioritise workloads, and use their own initiative to engage with a wide range of clinical and non-clinical colleagues to develop an equitable, standardised high quality chemotherapy service.
You will have the opportunity to lead a highly-competent, professional, proactive team of nurses and administrative staff to develop services across the 3 sites as well as developing personal expert clinical skills in SACT.
