Job summary
The fellowship would offer exposure to the medical and surgical management of malignant and benign thyroid cases including surgery for patients with Grave's Disease. In addition, regular parathyroid operations would also be undertaken. Outpatient commitments would include specialist thyroid clinics and teaching in ultrasound techniques. From an academicperspective, the department is currently involved in 2 national clinical trials and the opportunity to undertake research will be encouraged. We are also conducting a feasibility study into the use of Radio-frequency ablation for the treatment of thyroid nodules, one of only a handful of trusts to offer the service within the UK.
