Job summary

Band 7 Project Manager (ICS Elective TIF)

This is a fixed-term post for 18 months.

The Project Manager will be a key member of the Planned Care Management team with accountability for delivery of one of the Care Group's biggest and most strategically significant projects supporting our elective recovery programme.

The Project is to deliver the NHS England Targeted Investment Fund (TIF) award of (£17M) which includes the build of a free standing outpatient and procedure hub on the south block site of the Trust.

Working closely with the Estates and Facilities team to coordinate the delivery of the procurement, build and handover of a state of the art, outpatient and procedures unit.

With administrative support from the Estates Project office, the post holder will coordinate reporting, delivery and oversight of the project including managing a document library, planning and engagement with clinical teams, liaison with strategic partners for reporting on progress, internal reporting to the Project Board and Trust Operational Management Teams/Groups.

The project also includes funding for a number of targeted capital investments in kit to enable increased elective activity and the post holder will support spend of that funding and reporting of impact.

Main duties of the job

RBH has successfully risen to the challenges of the pandemic and is proud to have continued to provide excellent and safe care for its patients over the last few years.

Focus now turns to recovering our backlog while continuing to press ahead with an exciting programme of improving our surgical pathways through transforming how and where we provide our services. Alongside this, it is crucial that we optimise our theatre efficiency and ensure the effective management of our emergency pathways.

We are also working towards an ambitious aim of living within our means and delivering financial balance. You will be instrumental in designing and managing schemes and processes that can make these aspirations a reality.

A track record in the development of efficiency improvements and cost improvement programmes would be a significant advantage.

2/ Working with the Estates and Facilities project management team the post holder will be responsible and accountable for determining, monitoring and reviewing all project economics to include cost, operational budgets, staffing requirements, resources and risks.

3/ Accountable for leading and directing a project to determine requirements and translate those into operational plans to ensure delivery to time and budget.

4/ Jointly responsible for identifying and assembling the appropriate blend of resources to meet project needs and requirements.

7/ Supports and leads status meetings among key stakeholders and team members to assure project delivery.

9/ Ensuring continuing fit of project plan and delivery and services to Trust business needs and instigate solution and service change where appropriate.

10/ To lead or support operational managers to review and implement change management initiatives relevant to service and workforce redesign as part of the project delivery.

11/ Create and oversee communication plans that ensure that appropriate information is exchanged among key stakeholders such as the ICB, NHSE and patients and the public.

12/ Designs and completes regular reporting to stakeholders on impact of the project.
