Senior Staff Nurse - Kempton Day Bed Unit INTERNAL ONLY
Part-time.
Kempton Day Bed Unit is a 10 bedded planned paediatric unit caring for children, young people and their families aged 0-16years, requiring planned surgery, infusions, allergy testing and bloods.
We are looking for committed and enthusiastic Band 6 Paediatric Senior Staff nurses to join our team. This is an exciting time to join our paediatric team as we continue to shape and develop our vision for the care being offered to the children and young people in our community. Main duties of the job
As a Band 6 on Kempton Day Unit, you will be responsible for the clinical care of the children and young people, you will act as Shift Co-Ordinator working closely with our colleagues across the Paediatric Observation Bay and the Paediatric wards to enable flow through the departments. You will be responsible for assisting with the development of our junior team members, guiding your teams with quality Improvement projects and helping to maintain high standards of care and delivery to the ward and it's patients.

The role includes overseeing the 10 bedded unit, taking a multidisciplinary approach for the best outcomes for our patients and their families. As Band 6 you will take on the role as co-ordinator where you must lead the shift, oversee patient care, junior staff and manage flow through the department. The co-ordinator must use their oversight and experience to lead a team effectively in providing best practice with support from the education team and the ward managers. A band 6 staff nurse must also be willing to participate in bringing about a inclusive and positive culture through modelling excellent behaviour and aspirational standards of work. We are looking for senior staff nurses motivated to provide the best care through implementation of quality improvement projects.
