Job summary

We are looking for a dynamic and highly motivated individual for an exciting role as a band 7 Physiotherapist within our Recovery after Critical Illness (RaCI) Team at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. The RaCI team sits alongside the wider award winning Intensive Care Team.

The RaCI team work collaboratively with MDTs across the Trust bridging the gap between critical care and ward based care. There will be a strong focus on physical rehabilitation, including follow up clinics and appropriate service development, such as a rehab class. You will need a broad range of respiratory and rehabilitation skills and experience with neurological rehabilitation would be useful.

You will work closely with both RaCI and critical care colleagues as well as the wider physiotherapy team and the successful candidate will impact on patient experience and outcome by supporting the wider physiotherapy team through teaching and supervision, to help ensure high-quality patient care post critical illness is achieved.

Main duties of the job

Be able to demonstrate a high degree of personal motivation and innovation.

Contribute to the education and teaching of junior staff, students, preceptees and therapy support workers and provide developmental feedback on performance that is given at regular intervals throughout the year, as part of the overall appraisal process.

Ensure that high quality, evidence based practice, service development and education underpin the service delivery.

Acts as a role model to other members of both the RaCI and wider physiotherapy team, in regard to demonstrating professional behaviours and exemplary conduct.

To demonstrate excellent prioritising and time management skills to meet the unpredictable and conflicting needs of the service and assist junior staff with their time management and career development.
