Job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic motivated person to join the Haematology research team at the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust. The Haematology team is a vibrant growing team helping to change patients lives by offering them the chance to take part in research.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to appoint a caring, highly motivated, forward thinking and enthusiastic nurse to help lead and drive research across the Haematology area. The successful candidate will join an enthusiastic team and will be responsible for supporting the day to day running of NIHR Portfolio studies. These include all aspects of patient identification, recruitment and follow up of participants.

Research experience would be advantageous, all necessary training and support will be provided. It would ideally suit individuals have existing experience of Haematology in a clinical setting or individuals with research experience who wish to branch out into the exciting area of Haematology research.

Essential

  • Registered Nurse
  • ENB 100 or equivalent Critical Care Course

Desirable

  • Evidence of recent clinical research practice / evidence of recent appropriate research experience.
  • Recognised post registration qualification within a speciality
  • NVQ assessor
  • Clinical research related qualification / able to demonstrate evidence of up to date knowledge and understanding of best practice within the field of clinical trials/research

Experience:

Essential

  • Recent clinical experience in an acute clinical environment
  • Experience in mentoring / facilitation / teaching / assessing / coaching

Desirable

  • Experience of Benchmarking
  • Experience in leadership / management and speciality development
  • Experience of risk assessment
  • Experience of preparing and submitting study approval documentation
  • Knowledge of Research Governance Framework (RGF), International Conference on Harmonisation/Good Clinical Practice (ICH/GCP)
