Job summary

Band 2 Ward Clerk (General Surgical Unit) - Full Time / Part Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Ward clerk to join our busy admin team within the General Surgical Unit.

Full Time / Part Time hours considered.

We are looking for a self-motivated individual who can work both well within a team and also can demonstrate the ability to use own initiative.

The role of a ward clerk requires good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work on own initiative.

Main duties of the job

Main Duties

  • To answer calls in a polite manner, ensuring all relevant messages are relayed to the appropriate team.
  • Greet all visitors to the ward in a helpful and polite manner.
  • To assist with any enquiries.
  • Maintain accurate patient records including admission, transfer and discharge information on the Trust's Electronic Patient Record system.
  • To organise patient porters and transport bookings.
  • To participate in ensuring ward cleanliness and tidiness.
  • Maintain stock/supplies in accordance with ward requirements.
