Band 6 Patient Pathway Manager (Clinical Administration Team 3 - General Surgery)
General surgery is made up of four surgical specialties with 15 consultants and a large number of middle and junior grades.
The admin team has 20 staff including the service manager.
The PPM role is a rewarding but challenging position in a high performing CAT team.
Main duties of the job
Applicants for this role need to be confident leaders with experience leading a successful team.
Success in this role requires emotional intelligence and great communication skills.

Job responsibilities
To support the Directorate Senior Management Team (Clinical Director, Matron, Directorate Manager) in the efficient and effective operational management of your respective service/s in order to deliver continually improving, high quality patient care.
The Manager will provide senior support and expert knowledge to the team of patient pathway coordinators and associated roles within the admin team.
The Patient Pathway Manager has delegated responsibilities for a range of operational activities, working autonomously using initiative and their specialist knowledge and experience of the service to make decisions.
The post holder leads the delivery of the daily operational business of the designated service area as well as contributing to the development and implementation of strategic plans.
The Manager will oversee all administrative and clerical processes to enable a high quality, effective, patient focused service to be delivered.
The post holder will ensure that standard operating procedures are followed, ensuring achievement of all performance targets.
The Manager will be responsible for providing regular updates on performance and the escalation of issues which hinder the delivery of a smooth patient pathway to the Directorate Manager.
