Job summary

Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust is one of the largest general hospital Foundation Trusts in the country. We employ around 5,500 staff, serving a population of around one million people at six sites across Berkshire and its borders, providing acute medical and surgical services alongside specialist services such as cancer, dialysis, and eye surgery. Results from the recent NHS Staff Survey show we are among the top performing Acute Trusts nationally. We scored particularly well in areas covering patient care, for having a 'compassionate culture' and for giving our staff 'autonomy and control' to succeed.

We are now recruiting a new Head of Medical Workforce to oversee all aspects of Medical HR and Recruitment. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Medical Workforce professional, with proven experience within an NHS Medical Workforce Team, to take on the responsibilities and challenges of leading a combined team of Medical HR and Medical Staffing specialists in a large District General Hospital. We'd also welcome expressions of interest from people who are experienced Medical Staffing leads but don't have such extensive experience of generalist medical workforce issues, as this role provides an excellent opportunity to develop and thrive in a supportive and values driven organisation.
