Job summary
We welcome applications for a Palliative Medicineconsultantpost (8.57PAs) to join our team of 5 consultants in Berkshire West/South Oxfordshire. The palliative medicine department provides specialist medical input across a broad range of settings, including acute and community hospitals (Royal Berkshire Hospital, West Berkshire Community Hospital and Wallingford Community Hospital), the specialist inpatient unit based at Duchess of Kent Hospice and community services in Berkshire West and South Oxfordshire.
Main duties of the job
The post is primarily in the community setting, the successful applicant will be responsible for the clinical leadership of one of the three community teams in Berkshire Westand ourexpanded South Oxfordshire Palliative Care Hub providing CNS rapid response and a Hospice at Home service across South Oxfordshire.The allocation of posts to cover the whole service is reviewed annually with the opportunity to rotate to another part of the service and setting for wider experience.
An interest in teaching and education or research would be welcomed and there are opportunities to develop our local and regional education and research profile.
