Job summary

We are looking to appoint a 8 PA, part time Locum Consultant post in Kidney Transplant Medicine to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based at Northern General Hospital. This fixed term appointment is for a period of 11 months.

Main duties of the job

To provide care for kidney transplant patients in the inpatient and outpatient settings. To be involved in the care of potential transplant donors and recipients and attend the relevant MDTS. To engage in quality improvement projects across the entire transplant pathway including liaising with laboratory medicine and developing pathways to improve access to transplantation

Clinical experience

Essential

  • Ability to work as an independent practitioner in nephrology and possess broad clinical experience in all aspects of nephrology and dialysis.

Continuous Professional Development

Essential

  • Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months

Desirable

  • Maintenance of a CPD diary or portfolio

Personal attributes

Essential

  • Demonstrates behaviour consistent with PROUD values (see appendix)
  • Good oral and written communication skills
