Job summary
To deliver oral health education and promotion programmes, providing advice and resources to a broad spectrum of clients, including groups of the population and individuals and to develop materials for use in oral health education.
To facilitate supervised toothbrushing clubs in SEND schools and nurseries and obtain relevant data under the direction of the oral health promotion manager.
Support the Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry in the delivery of the fluoride varnish programme in clinic andSpecialist Schools.
Main duties of the job
To maintain and develop partnership working within early years settings to improve oral health.
To communicate and liaise with early year providers, health promotion staff and others involved in organisation and delivery of oral health promotion programmes.
To have the ability to support children, young people and families regarding concerns about their oral health.
To support children, young people and families through evidence-based programmes, partnership approach and referrals to evidence-based services.
To provide training, resources and information to SEND settings taking part in a supervised toothbrushing club.
To extend Supervised toothbrushing clubs to SEND schools.
To provide these schools and nurseries extra support to set up a supervised toothbrushing club by deliveringlaunch events.
Support the Specialist in Paediatric Dentistry in the delivery of the fluoride varnish programme in clinic and Specialist Schools.
To Provide detailed information on activities including STB clubs, 'take home' packs and fluoride varnish programme in SEND schools.
To provide training and oral health support to children with additional needs and those not in education and foster care/children's homes and their parent/carer.

The service provides dental care in community settings for children and adults who have difficulty accessing dental treatment in general dental practice or who require special care dentistry on a referral basis.
