We are seeking an enthusiastic and dynamic team player with proven admin skills. You need to be flexible and reliable to provide efficient and effective admin duties supporting the multi-disciplinary team in Neurosciences.
We are seeking confident individuals with excellent communication skills and a professional, tactful and diplomatic approach to work within our busy department.
This is a demanding but interesting and varied role. The successful candidate must possess the ability to work as part of a team and the initiative to work unsupervised when necessary. An understanding of confidentiality is essential as well as a commitment to delivering excellent customer service. You must be educated to a GCSE grade 4/C or above in English and Maths (or equivalent experience) and have experience working in an admin environment.
Previous hospital experience including knowledge of EPR would be desirable. Effective communication skills and excellent keyboard skills are also essential. Full training for this post will be provided.
The post will predominantly be at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital and a flexible approach to a working is required.
Main duties of the job
As a ward clerk you will be working within the neurosciences department to provide a comprehensive administrative service.
You will be dealing with members of the public and linking with medical staff at all levels both face to face and on the telephone. The role involves a combination of reception based work and coordinating admissions and discharges.
We are looking for somebody enthusiastic, polite and professional with great communication skills to join our hard working team. They will need experience in dealing with members of the public and providing an excellent service. In addition to this, we are looking for someone comfortable performing office duties such as answering phones and with previous experience using IT systems. As this role involves interactions with patients, professionalism and adhering to GDPR is imperative.
This role includes shift work between the hours of 7am to 10pm, Monday to Sunday ( on a rota basis to be shared within the team).
