Locum Consultant Gynaecologist

Job summary

We are looking to appoint to a Whole-Time 12 month Locum Consultant in Benign Gynaecology, at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust based in the Jessop Wing of the Royal Hallamshire Hospital.

We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers.

Any candidate who is unable for personal reasons to work full-time will be eligible to be considered for the post; if such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed on a personal basis with the Trust in consultation with consultant colleagues.

Should any further vacancies arise shortlisted applicants will be considered.

Main duties of the job

The appointee will, together with consultant colleagues be responsible for the provision of a comprehensive benign gynaecology service.

Track record / qualifications in one of the following areas or special interests would be an advantage:o Menopauseo Hysteroscopyo Fast track clinico Acute gynaecology and early pregnancyo Vulval

The post holder will participate in the oncall rota.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered (or eligible to be registered) with the GMC with a licence to practise.
  • MRCOG Postgraduate professional qualification

Desirable

  • MD or PhD or equivalent
  • Name on the specialist register for relevant specialty or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview
  • If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
