Job summary
We are seeking a 0.7 WTE Operational Manager for the Gastroenterology and Hepatology (G&H) Directorate. This post provides day-to-day management and leadership of G&H administrative services for G&H at both the Northern General Hospital (NGH) and Royal Hallamshire Hospital (RHH) sites. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery and transformation of services in a large and complex clinical directorate.
You will need to be educated to degree level and/or be an experienced NHS operational manager. Main duties of the job
To oversee the management of administrative staff and services in support of the provision of high-quality care, teaching and research, within a patient-centred environment.
Take a lead on service redesign involving front-line staff and patients in delivering effective, efficient and timely services, in a cost-effective way.
Ensure that the necessary resources are available to deliver clinical and non-clinical services. To ensure that the Directorate delivers financial targets, including balanced budgets, meeting Productivity & Efficiency (P&E) programmes and recovering income.
To take responsibility for delivery of activity, waiting list, RTT waiting time and cancer waiting time targets, including regular activity modelling and capacity planning.
To contribute to Service Development Bids, Business Cases and Capital Bids.
To develop, structure and schedule plans that impact across multiple directorates and services with conflicting components.
To work with the GRaDE Care Group Performance and Improvement Team to ensure that accurate, timely information is available to support service delivery as well as the delivery of objectives/targets.
Ensure that staff are informed and engaged with planning/objective-setting and receive regular feedback on directorate performance.
