Job summary
The Acute Medical Unit and Emergency Department are looking for enthusiastic, dynamic and highly motivated nurses with at significant experience in practice, interested in all aspects of Acute and Emergency Care. We endeavour to deliver high quality care to a wide variety of medical patients.

As part of the Acute and Emergency Medicine Directorate, we work closely with the Emergency Department and Same Day Emergency Care (SDEC) Unit.
If you enjoy a challenge where no two days are the same and want to work with a team who are committed in providing the best possible patient care at the front door, then this is the place for you. We are offering rotational posts between AMU (including SDEC) and ED.
Our department benefits from a structured development programme to equip you with the skills and knowledge required to deliver high quality care in a supportive environment. Our education plan includes simulation training, A to E assessment study days to respond to deteriorating patients and many more opportunities.
We also offer a team based rostering system, ensuring more personalised shift choice and work life balance.
We are looking for caring and compassionate individuals to join our nursing team at Sheffield Teaching Hospital.
Main duties of the job
To deliver a high standard of clinical nursing care to a diverse range of patients within the clinical environment as part of the multi-disciplinary team.
To act as supervisor to junior members of staff and students.
To provide excellent patient centred care working in collaboration with families and carers.
