We are recruiting an experienced nurse to join our senior nursing team as Matron for Specialised Rehabilitation Services, based at The Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Centre at the Northern General Hospital.
The role of the Matron has never been more challenging, rewarding or important and it is an exciting time for a leader who thrives in the provision of visible and leadership to lead the Specialised Rehabilitation Services nursing team
Main duties of the job

We're looking for a passionate, dynamic and innovative leader with a solid foundation in operational and managerial leadership.
The successful candidate will focus on the development and sustainability of services will span safety, day to day operational demands, finance, quality, and experience for patients and staff. The ideal candidate will have a clear vision for service development, a passion for delivery, an interest in governance and safety and extensive experience in an acute hospital setting.
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the Duty Matron site rota and the Care Group Operational Matron rota.
About us
The directorate provides several specialist and highly specialised services to patients with acute spinal cord injury and non-trauma related spinal cord conditions.
The Princess Royal Spinal Injuries Centre is a self-contained unit which provides care and treatment to patients who require ongoing ventilatory management and respiratory support, rehabilitation, surgical intervention, and ongoing care for patients with spinal cord conditions. Alongside the Spinal Injuries Centre, the post holder will also oversee the Mobility and Rehabilitation Centre, which provides specialist regional wheelchair and prosthetic outpatient services.
