Job summary

We are looking to appoint to a part time Consultant Radiologist with a specialist interest in Foetal Imaging within the Medical Imaging and Medical Physics Directorate of Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, based at the Royal Hallamshire and Northern General Hospitals.

We would welcome applications from candidates across the full spectrum of experience, from those who have recently completed training to those who have well-established careers.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will provide subspecialty fetal and maternal MRI reporting services, including fetal anomaly and anatomy imaging; placental imaging, including assessment of abnormally invasive placenta (AIP) diagnosis and extent, (placenta accreta spectrum); reporting of external imaging as part of a specialist feto-maternal/placental imaging service; and neonatal imaging in conjunction with the paediatric neonatal imaging service.

The successful candidate will be able to provide imaging support for genetic, fetal and neonatal MDTs, and the candidate should be able to report fetal and neonatal postmortem imaging.

Essential

  • Full registration (with a licence to practise) with the General Medical Council (GMC).
  • Name on the specialist register for radiology specialty or eligible within 6 months of the date of the interview. If an applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview.
  • FRCR or equivalent
  • Postgraduate professional qualifications as appropriate to post.
  • Basic Medical Degree.

Continuous Professional Development

  • Evidence of participation in CME/CPD in the last 12 months
  • Track record of foeto-maternal research, publications and presentations.

Clinical experience

  • Ability to work as an independent practitioner having completed a minimum of 5 years training in general clinical radiology.
