Job summary
An opportunity has arisen for an individual to join the orthopaedic trauma therapy team at the Northern General Hospital as a Senior Therapy Assistant.
The successful applicant will work in the Inpatient Therapy Team consisting of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Senior Therapy Assistant and Therapy Assistants.
They will working in pre operative clinics and provide post operative therapy under the guidance of qualified therapist to patients following orthopaedic surgery.
To develop their skills the successful candidates will receive training and regular teaching, they will also regularly participate in supervision and working towards a competency framework with a qualified therapist.
The Northern General Hospital is a regional trauma centre, treating patients from across the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw area and there is the opportunity to work and learn alongside a wide range of professionals.
The post includes participating in a weekend working roster.
Main duties of the job
JOB PURPOSE
Provide Therapy to patients. Ensure governance standards and contribute to the operational management and modernisation of Musculoskeletal (MSK) Therapy Services.
ROLE OF THE DEPARTMENT
MSK Therapy Services provides Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy to patients referred to Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. MSK Therapy Services is part of the MSK Directorate within the trust.
Flexible or part time working hours would be considered.
