Job summary

The appointment is to commence as soon as possible for a fixed term period of 12 months for a candidate who has completed MRCP and wishes to gain further experience in haemostasis and thrombosis.

The post does not award a National Training Number. As this post is not recognised as a 'training post', full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required. The duties of this post are suitable for a candidate who has completed at least 4 years of post-graduate training, an existing haematology trainee or as a post CCT clinical fellowship.

Main duties of the job

Please refer to the supporting job description and person specification which will outline the duties of the role including an indicative job plan.

The post holder will work within the adult H&T multidisciplinary team to provide high quality care for patients with inherited and acquired bleeding, thrombotic and immune haematology disorders. The post holder will see patients in H&T clinics, including immuno-haematology (ITP, TTP). There will be opportunities to gain experience in liaison haematology, as well as in the care of inpatients. The post holder will not be contracted to contribute to the out of hours resident doctor on-call rota. The post holder will be supervised and supported by designated members of the H&T consultant team.
