Job summary
Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is seeking to appoint a Junior Clinical Fellows in intensive care medicine, with commencement dates of 7th May 2025. The tenure of all posts is 6 months with the possibility of extension up to 18 months by mutual agreement and depending upon service need. The posts do not attract a National Training Number.
The posts are based within the existing teams with access to departmental teaching and other developmental opportunities. Despite not being recognised as 'training posts' they allow doctors to improve the breadth and depth of their experience in Intensive Care Medicine. We are very supportive of those considering the CESR route and have had several fellows be successful in this process.
Full registration with the GMC with a licence to practise is required, and if the appointee does not hold right of residence in the UK sponsorship will be required.
Main duties of the job
The general adult critical care services are currently provided on two sites, the Northern General Hospital (NGH) and the Royal Hallamshire Hospital (RHH). General adult critical care provided level 2 and 3 care to a wide range of patients supporting both the medical and surgical services. Sheffield Teaching Hospitals is one of three major trauma centres in the Yorkshire and Humberside region.
