An exciting opportunity has arisen for experienced MSK Podiatrist to apply to join our team, providing highly specialised assessment and treatment across a broad range of MSK referrals, including orthopaedic and other specialties, incorporating both acute and long-term health conditions.
The MSK Care Group at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals incorporates specialities including, Orthopaedics, Pain Management, Rheumatology, Pelvic Health and PhysioWorks, part of MSK Therapy provide assessment and treatment to primary care referred patients at their entry point into the MSK Pathway.
Main duties of the job
The Advanced MSK Podiatry post-holder will have responsibility to ensure that the clinical standards in MSK Therapy are met, working closely with Podiatry, Physiotherapy colleagues and Operational Leads in ensuring the services run efficiently and effectively. The post holder is required to work closely with the associated Advanced Practice Podiatrist and wider MDT members to ensure that the patient pathway is clear, and that best evidence-based practice is always assured.

The roles offer the opportunity for a Podiatrist with extensive experience in MSK to continue to grow their personal and professional development with both breadth and depth across a framework of clinical practice, education, leadership, and quality improvement & research.
To assess, diagnose, plan and develop relevant specialist treatment programmes for patients/clients with a wide variety of physical/mental health needs in a community setting.
To supervise/train and assess competence of Podiatrists, Therapy Assistants and students working within the service.
To work with the Clinical Service Manager and Head of MSK AHP Clinical Services in co-ordinating, delivering and evaluating our Musculoskeletal Service provided in the community setting.

- Current HCPC registration.
- Demonstrate commitment to continuous Professional Development via personal development plans/file.
- Relevant validated courses to Masters level or equivalent knowledge / experience.
Desirable
- MSc or higher qualification in a relevant subject e.g. Musculoskeletal, Biomechanics, Podiatric surgery.

- Specialist clinical knowledge and experience of MSK assessment and rehabilitation acquired through in depth post registration practical experience.
